"Finding Purpose in Life"

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give a one hour public talk on "Finding Purpose in Life" at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday June 14 at 4.15pm.
Tickets are available for $20 online or at the venue before the event.
One of the questions His Holiness is most often asked is 'what is the purpose of life?' His Holiness decided to do this talk because of the overwhelming demand by many people to hear His Holiness speak at a more general and accessible level than the quite demanding 5 day Stages of Meditation Teachings that are the centerpiece of his visit to Australia.

Chenrezig Initiation - June 15

A limited number of seats have been set aside for people wishing to attend just the final day of the Stages of Meditation Teachings with His Holiness on Sunday June 15 and to recieve the Chenrezig Initiation.
- 8.30 - 11.30 Chenrezig Initiation
- 2.00 - 4.00pm Final Teachings of the visit.
His Holiness will give the 1000 arm Chenrezig Initiation. Chenrezig is the aspect of compassion of the Buddha. This form of Chenrezig has 1000 arms (which represent reaching out to beings in all directions, freeing them from suffering) and an eye in the palm of each hand (which represents seeing all beings and their potential to reach enlightenment).
Receiving the initiation means the seed of compassion is planted in the mind of the participants. This can then be nurtured through on going practice until one’s quality of compassion is perfected. His Holiness may ask participants to do a simple practice or mantra recitation each day to support this process.
To attend, participants should have faith and respect for His Holiness and the practice of diety yoga and a sincere wish to benefit others. This is a rare opportunity to receive an initiation and to receive it from such a highly realized meditator.
